Saints fans on X aren’t happy, they’ve just announced pricing for their match at Portman Road and we are charging them £43 for adults. FOURTY three for adults! Crazy

We get them this season regardless. We just won't get the second instalment next season... because we'd be back in the Prem.

And if the 3 relegated teams go back up, it reduces the total amount of parachute payments to be paid (there's no 2nd year payments)

So who gets the surplus?

That's right, its distributed amongst the existing cash-laden premier league teams.

Shouldn't laugh, we will get fleeced when we go there later in the season, just as Leeds did to us 2 years ago. Also likely some of the other clubs (including the scum) will inflate their prices when we roll into Town because they know we will more than sell our allocation. Time the EFL got on top of ticket pricing for away fans just lie the PL have

Agree with all of that, except the most responsibility is on Town, not the EFL.

It’s pretty shameful, and I expect better.

Even if we’re completely selfish, the knock-on effect is Town fans being fleeced in return. Short-sighted, greedy and exploitative, sadly. We’re better than that.

I'm really torn.

It is very expensive.

HOWEVER, no one questions musicians charging £100 a ticket? And there's not many activities you can do these days for 2 hours that would cost less than that (that'd you'd actually enjoy)

I think people do question those high concert ticket prices, which often are a rip off. I suppose the performers would argue the income is only from people attending, whereas in football the TV and commercial income is huge. Players are super-rich, earning average annual salaries in days. Meanwhile working people on those average salaries are being asked to pay ever higher match ticket prices, and also to watch more advertising when at the stadiums.

That's pretty disgusting tbh especially as the stand is hardly top end.

If we had a decent supporters club you'd hope they would be speaking out. We don't and they won't.

If prices are capped at £30 in the Prem can see no good reason why the lower leagues cant so similar.

They have spoken out.

But watching a band play for £100 tends to be something most people do once or twice a year. Watching football is much more of a weekly thing - not sure that’s a like-for-like comparison.

Season ticket holders of course get a massive discount on home match tickets.

I’m not sure why supply and demand shouldn’t be a thing at football matches.

Because supply will always outstrip demand at football. And it means that working class (and, increasingly, middle class) people in this country won't reasonably be able to afford to watch.

Football without fans is nothing.

Agree with you on the supporters' club - especially as the club's money-grabbing when it comes to away supporters will have repercussions for Town fans when the boot is on the other foot.

About as useful as a marzipan d*ldo, that lot.

or Almond-paste an*l-beads perhaps?
