As the title says, I am curious to hear about the daily experiences of others when it comes to sitting at a desk for work.
Since working from home at the start of the year I've become really conscious of how much more time I've naturally spent sitting in the same position at a desk every day. I do mix it up by going for regular breaks and/or walks of 10-15 minutes every hour, plus regular gym exercise during the week.
On the positive, as I don't have a commute, it is less time spent sitting in a car every week, which balances it out to some extent.

Too long, probably about 40 hours when factoring in breaks etc.
As a consequence I don't watch much TV, last thing I tend to want to do in the evening is look at another screen. Like you I consciously try to be more active outside of work hours otherwise I would go mad. |  | | |

Too long. Trying to do some steps throughout the day, even walking around home.
Also bought a badminton set and a few cheap golf clubs from charity shop. Hoping to set up a small driving range with some netting. |  |

About 8-9 hours a day. Only break away from the screen is daily leadership meetings.
Used to be about 11-12 hours a day in my old job on average. More so since Covid because I used to do a lot more meetings in person whereas virtually all are on Teams now.
Have been pretty much in front of a computer for at least 4-5 hours a day, five days a week since 1996. |  | | |

On average between 9-11 hours per day after breaks. I tend to have a couple of longer breaks (10+ mins) every few hours aside from bathroom breaks and maybe up to 25-30 mins for lunch. This is my choice, I enjoy what I do so tend to lose myself in it. I commute 2 hours into London a couple of times a week a week but am usually at my desk by 7:30am when I do.
Having allowed my fitness to slip in last few years now I’m recovering from some surgery so I use my TacX Neo trainer 3-4 times per week as I try to get fitter plus usually spend all weekend gardening or some other exercise. Most of my working week is at home which makes it worse as all of my meetings are on a screen as well. On the rare occasions I'm in the office its better in that respect as if I've got 3 or 4 hours of face to face meetings it means less screen time. | | | |

Same as many, probably 8/9 hours a day (aka too much).

Anywhere between 8-14 hours per day.
Work takes the majority of that but I also run some side hustles.
I have noticed that I can do some of that on the phone these days, so not actually at desk but still screen time |  |
