When Johnson switched to left back he looked a different player. Have we been playing him in the wrong position all this time?!

Johnson looked exactly the same player. Decent going forward; poor defensively.

I thought he was one of the bright sparks last night. Looked much better on the left.

This, unfortunately!

Without going too hyperbolic, I think that performance could have saved his Town career. Fans now know what he *can* do, gives us a very viable option at LB as back up to Leif, and he looked full of confidence by the end of the night.

Hmm..we doubt that a player with over 90 starts in the Premier League is good enough for Town in the Championship?

He was better... but then he was up against League Two opposition. I'd be worried if he didn't look better!

Ashley Young was another positive, he really oozes quality and class, did not put a foot wrong.

But yes Johnson could be worth trying in an attacking midfield position, looks like he has a decent shot on him.

Why do people keep saying Young didn't put a foot wrong? I saw someone say it after Friday as well. He was decent overall... but he had several misplaced passes too - one that led to a good chance for them.

One that sticks in my head was a floated ball across midfield that went to no-one and the commentator said, "I'm not sure what he was trying to do there."
Were you not watching properly?

I don't think all is lost with Johnson... but I don't think we can read too much into a decent performance against tiring League 2 reserves either!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Can't deny he was much more of a goal threat from the left. Don't think that translates to Champ football though

Against both Birmingham and Bromley Johnson put in some cracking crosses.

I would play him right midfield on Sunday and get cipre in at full back. He is much better going forward. The way he played at spurs is what we need.
