I don't get the general Wrexham hate (not specifically on here). 12:03 - Aug 15 with 581 viewsFromReuserWithLove

I think their story is wholesome and well deserved. Their fans seem like an appreciative and decent bunch when flicking through their boards. Yeh, they've blown teams away with their budget but that's always going to be the way really and I think they've done it in a nice way. I'm probably wrong but it's how i see it.

Birmingham on the other hand are a bunch of unbearable c****.

Agree with this. Although some of the Wrexham fans still just go to away games looking for a fight.

Some of us were there back in the 90s. still can see the wheelchairs rolling onto the pitch celebrating their cup upset.
Adrian Paz an Ipswich player i will never forget, for all the wrong reasons after his miss that day!

For me it's as simple as it all being propped up on a lie, that they've been the underdogs. No problem with them spending money it's the dishonesty of how they've generated it

I mean we basically did the same in League One - spending more than the rest of the league combined.

But it’s not particularly wholesome- outspending your rivals is the oldest trick in the book. For me it’s just annoying that virtually every one of their cup games is televised, and the outsized media coverage they get.

You've just described the minnows Bournemouth too

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Funnily enough no fan of them either! They were the originals you're right, but weren't profiting from it tbf, just bloody annoying.

Just can't stand the whole Disney stuff and how everyone (well the press and media) keep swooning over them. Them and Birmingham are bloody annoying and I'd love nothing more for them both to get relegated

I'm sick of people who aren't normally interested in football telling me i have to watch the fecking documentary, that's been enough reason for me to not like wrexham.

Birmingham seem way more unlikeable now but probably where Wrexham came from. Clubs at that level were operating week to week in terms of their entire existence at times, while they were flying to away games. The owners have taking the entire thing a bit more serious in terms of research and respecting the game though.

Probably didn't help when their manager bemoaned championship spending when they lost their opening game.

a niche perspective

Agreed. I see stuff on social media about this accountant/finance guy for them who says straight faced that they haven't spent that much money.

Their wage bill in League one was higher than ours and Derby's in our promotion season....!

They seem to have hid behind Birmingham's ridiculous spending as its "not that much". They've also structured stuff and come out with things like "no money is owed to the directors" which is fine, but it's just owed to other people.

If people just said it like it was then fine, but this "fairytale" is not a fairytale. Having League one players in the national league is hardly fairytale.
