This Omari fee of £37.5M 18:26 - Aug 15 with 1200 viewsSwansea_Blue

Is larger than Arsenal have ever received for a player. Their record sale is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for £35M.

Makes you think, doesn’t it?

That is quite wild. They must have a high retention rate for top players or they've mishandled a lot of contracts!

It makes you think that they don't sell their best players when they are at their peak. They spend a lot though. Declan Rice cost them £105 million didn't he? If they were to sell him tomorrow they'd get more than £37 million.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Only a little bit more. Wasn’t it reported they paid £40M? So we’ve gone from a basket case £90M in debt to selling players for nearly as much as the club was worth 4 years ago. Nuts.

Yeah, surprising isn’t it. Think of the players they’ve had and still have. Most of their starting 11 must be worth more than £37.5M

I think that's the really sobering thing - the explosion in transfer fees once you start getting a sight (not a seat) at the top table. I remember Raheem Sterling being sold for more than Aston Villa would have cost you at the time, I don't think I factored in us joining the party so soon.
As you and General McAuliffe said - Nuts.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

But their so called “best players” have only won Two trophies in Ten years, one of those being the community shield.

They’ve won 2 FA Cups and 4 Community Shields in that time. Granted it’s not a huge amount but given the amount of trophies Man City hoovered up in that time it’s more than most

Highlighting crass stupidity since sometime around 2010
