Excuse FC, they were pretty average even last year and were rubbish the year before when Jack Clarke was their only outlet.
They just purchased a strong new team on the continent to give themselves a chance, where as went did the opposite for the same money. |

Sunderland had two promotions in five seasons - just one more than us - do you see their fans treating Louis-Dreyfus and Le Bris as the messiah and singing their praises like how some people here do to MA and KM?
Sunderland aren't Leicester, Leeds or Southampton as well. If you have watched STID, the coupe of years after 2018 was just as bad or worse than what we had under Evans. In fact, if their previous owner Ellis Short did not wipe out a £160m debt they would have gone into administration or even bust.
Hence, they are a pretty good benchmark we should use.
