Seems a bit odd that 2 players have turned us down despite having medicals 21:32 - Aug 17 with 3533 viewsVic

I always thought that if a player had a medical the deal was done, so very surprised by Hackney and the Spanish guy. Is this a new thing?

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

It is all rather odd... players travelling here, undergoing medicals, terms agreed... it used to mean it's a done deal.

What has changed?

Nothing.

Agreement in principal between clubs.

Player agrees to come over to talk to possible new club. As apart of discussion we need a medical all fairly standard.

Something shows up on medical. Possible new team decide that the issue is not worth the risk. Thanks and move on.

I don't see that anything has changed.

I get what your saying but you can fail a medical within the parameters of what a buying club are or aren't willing to accept

I also thought that Cesc Fabregas was a bit too keen to get the Azon deal done and i have never liked him since he through his toys out of the pram after we beat Arsenal in League cup semi first leg at Portman Rd .

it was also the "dont see him joining this window" comment.

Implies we are interested, but something stopping it happening now. So get what ever the issue is fixed and we may return.

No one - but that is why they came to PR. Hackney defo didn’t failed. If the other guy failed then I reckon we’d have been told.

You can't tell people if a player has failed a medical. It would effect there livelihood. Bit like a reference really. You can only say certain things.

It looks as though he has had a few problems this year, including a knee injury in April/May. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ivan-azon/verletzungen/spieler/633306

Yeah - even putting aside general courtesy when it come to such private matters, GDPR probably also comes into play too.
