8 points from the first 4 games would constitute a good start in my book. Well we've got the 2 hardest games out the way now. Preston obviously won't be easy, but still less daunting than Brum and Southampton. Derby meanwhile have conceded 8 in their opening 2 games. I'm pretty hopeful of getting to September on 2pts per game with our squad still assembling and gelling. |  | | |

He’s weirdly forgotten losing to a fourth division reserve side…. Where we also struggled to get any control in the game.
It’s a tough start but this is a massively lower level than last season, so it’s no excuse.
We’ve had very little control for our better players to play, in any of the THTEE games…, that’s a worrry.
It’s become a theme, we don’t do the without the ball stuff very well, and aren’t keeping the ball very well either, so are having a lot of it to do.
We need to improve massively…, fine margins in this league, but if any sides were going to be in those games, we’d have zero points.
They have a new manager, all clubs are losing players…, and Southampton squad will be weaker…, probably isn’t true…, they will spend money too.
And Fernades and Dibbling if they do leave, have barely kicked a ball for them, we haven’t done our business early…, we still aren’t close to bringing the players in that we need.
Another CDM and possibly two, and a striker still or wide right …, so no, we aren’t ahead of them at all.
Getting a little fed up of the toxic positivity tbh
Not all doom and gloom, this is a very talented group, under achieving, but our balance is way off, this isn’t a group they can be succesful even at this level when we are so poor without the ball, pressing for 10 minutes at the start of a game isn’t going to win many games at this level and we can’t use our quality if we don’t have and keep the ball.
The issues won’t just eveoorete on their own…, we’ve had them for a very long time now, they are fundamental.
A new CDM has to be a priority, our Morsy replacement looks excellent. The potential looks great. But he can’t play 50 games in two positions for us!
Really poor planning on our part…, and it will define our season if we don’t sort it, because the answer isn’t in this squad at the minute. | | | |

Would you say Birmingham away was tougher than say Middlesbrough, Leicester or Sheffield United away? Just curious as to how those other Three are viewed in comparison. | | | |

If we beat Preston on Saturday we'll actually have more points (5) than we got from these respective fixtures in our promotion season (4) where we drew at Brum and lost at Preston.
You could argue Brum was a much tougher fixture this season than it was then too, albeit was Rooney's first game IIRC. |  | | |
