Coventry have offer rejected for Woolfenden… on 13:43 - Aug 20 by Vaughan8 | As with other players, the club are (relatively) in control as Woolfenden only signed a new contract is January. If he was desperate to leave, why would he do that, or at least not have some sort of clause in it....! Obviously something like £10m is a decent amount, but only if we can get someone better in, which seems unlikely if they're going to have to play 2nd fiddle to O'Shea. |
I said before but I think both the club and Woolfenden had a different vision of what was going to happen with O'Shea than what has transpired. I imagine they thought, if Town were relegated, O'Shea would move on and the club told Woolfenden, in that circumstance, he would be given the chance as starter. And, if he stayed up, he'd be happy as a squad player in the Premier League. As it is, neither of those things have happened.

I doubt Caceres (for example) would care if he got a huge pay rise and a chance to play in the PL in 12 months. Is he better than Woolfy? Don't know but I would guess so if he's earned 21 Uruguay caps.
