Whilst we all want new signings, I do think fans are justified in being mystified by the McAteer link.
We've just sold two wide forwards for a combined 47.5M and we are now being linked with a replacement who is a bench player for a rival, is worth a couple of million and has 8 goals and 1 assist in his 4 years of senior Football.
We know nothing as fans but I think in this case, with him being a possible replacement for our best player, fans are well within their right to say we should be aiming much higher. |
We signed Massimo who was not even in the squad at Boro, who at the time would be a rival going into that Championship season. Is that not the same? |  | | |

Well are they the same ones or not? I'm not an expert on X, but as I understand it, it says who says what.
It's OK to be desperate for signings. It's OK to be underwhelmed with someone who's linked. If someone is desperate for any signing, but then criticises any link, plainly that's unreasonable, and they may well be children. But assuming that two contrary opinions are expressed by the same people when you could literally just check seems unnecessarily harsh on fellow fans. |  | | |

Tbh on the overall mood and feelings both ways, ten days is such a long time in the window so many deals to be done late for parachute clubs it's best just to wait and see. |  |
