Mcateer can’t get anywhere near.. 15:43 - Aug 21 with 2823 viewsSlimTeaBoy

The Leicester team, but somehow he’s linked to us. Screams desperation and panic buying this late on.
If he’s that good, there is no way they would want to sell after relegation.

....if a footballer has the "raw materials" to make it (which I think you may have indicated on a previous thread) but struggles "technically" then there is every chance he can improve.

Particularly if he is coached well and shown how to improve his technique.

Have you considered that perhaps he has just been badly coached by your bunch of managers, who lets face it apart from Maresca, have been totally hopeless in the last few years.

If he does sign, which is not a given, then I guess we'll see.

Either way, it's hardly going to be a lot of money to us, and it'll help (in a small way) you lot with your financial woes. So chin up.

Possibly a fair point. I haven't seen anything in McAteer that suggests there is a rough diamond worth polishing. My take would be that he's destined to drop down the leagues if anything. But KM knows his onions so hoping to be pleasantly surprised, especially if it's a cheap punt.

I'm always impressed by how obvious they are which often comes hand in hand with them thinking that they're being really sneaky and going under the radar.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Odd definition of ‘can’t get anywhere near’ given he’s played about 50 times over the last 2 seasons and featured in both of their league games this season. I thought he was excellent against us at their place in April.

Not that you’ll have seen that of course, you were probably watching Norwich stink out the championship at the time.

I think from a squad perspective adding someone like McAteer makes a lot of sense. Versatile and there’s a player in there for sure. After reading the comments on the Leicester forum seems like he has a good head of his shoulders and a good character, so he ticks a lot of boxes on the type of character we look for.

He’s not the Omari replacement but a good player who can be integrated in the squad pretty quickly due to the ROI connections.
