MAGA sentiment means right wing populism, conspiracy theory leaning, being led by wealthy self interest charlatans, nostalgic nationalism, white nationalism sympathies, eschewing science and expertise in governance. Net zero negativity.
Don’t get me wrong not all people who support Trump or vote republican are MAGA. And the democrats made a complete hash of leaning too left and a shambolic response to Trump.
And it’s wrong to state that every policy or Trump’s has been negative. He has done some things that have challenged failings in the status quo.
But what is now happening in the US is shocking. If you aren’t up to speed on what Trump is doing at the federal level take the time to research, news reporting in the UK is relatively light on what for example is happening in government departments and education. Kennedy’s actions alone in research and healthcare are deranged. The zone is so flooded people are dizzy to the change. His support Netanyahu and Putin is staggering.
I thought when the liar in chief Boris was removed and Trump lost the election (republican voting officials have testified he lost, and yet he’s trying to have school curriculums changed to relevant his view - one of a 1000 insanity points). That Farage will skulk back into his hate hole after the Brexit debacle.
But social media and client journalism is a powerful thing.
And now we see the rise of flag waving, of immigration hate, of nationalism, of AI powered Farage memes, of UK people pining for Trumpian rule, of Reform saying they will frack… etc etc
It’s MEGA and it is coming, combined with the Starmer hate campaign (he deserves massive criticism, but he’s also done much right) before we know it we’ll have damaging people in charge. Badenoch is a disgrace, dancing to the hate whistle.
I just hope the British public can see through the rhetoric.
And in the background AI rises.
What a time to be alive.
Still the sun is shining, and we have our Town (well sort of)
Here you go. Listen to the first 1:40 of this. He says the same thing quite a few of us have said on here before. In 1:40 he gives you the problem and the solution to the problem.

He's certainly right about the right winning the culture war now.
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Feels like we’re on brink of a lot of chickens coming home to roost and can imagine various dystopian scenarios playing out.
For me the most concerning thing is how so much these days is driven by hate. I think the digital culture enables that - it was harder to be offensive and spiteful when you had to do it in person and there could be consequences.
On a related note I find that it’s pretty obvious the right are really skilled in harnessing narratives. Fair play to them. Woke used to be about caring about people I thought. Now that’s an insult…utter woke nonsense.
And this raise the colours thing. Now the right have claimed exclusive ownership of patriotism. It’s not exactly exclusive to the right to be patriotic. In other liberal and more socialist countries than here people routinely fly their national flags. Why does the left just vacate any space the right wants to assume control of?
Surely a left wing liberal socialist can he patriotic too. I’d certainly appreciate the flag painted with more care and neatly on my mini roundabout.
For me the left has to do much better.
The right in this country has always in my view tapped into issues which play on people's emotions/fears (crime, immigration, tax etc) whether or not based on actual evidence.
Sadly, it is virtually impossible to counteract views so formed with reason.
To take a current example, a recent YouGov poll found that nearly half the population believe there are more illegal migrants in this country than legal, when in fact illegal migrants make up only a tiny fraction.
In such circumstances, it isn't really possible to have a reasoned debate, and there is very little the left can do to change views, with the might of the media/social media (increasingly relying on false stories) lined up against them.

He's certainly right about the right winning the culture war now.
the 'culture wars' are an entirely minority pursuit - 90% of people have absolutely no interest in them at all. most people turn a blind eye and really only notice when one side pushes it all to an extreme and get to the point of looking ridiculous - the whole emperor's new clothes effect then kicks in. people who haven't been following the detail of the 'war' until then look and think 'why are these people claiming moral superiority over everyone else?'. politically claiming moral superiority over the electorate is always a bad place to be - but when there's an issue on which they also seem unhinged then they're on a real loser
And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

Great clip and message.
"And the democrats made a complete hash of leaning too left"
It wasn't about leaning too left, it was leaning too into identity politics and not social and economic equality.
