My biggest concern 21:04 - Aug 30 with 1140 views | FrimleyBlue | I'm gonna be honest is we seem to making our potentially best players look sht Davis. Philogene. Clarke. Cajuste. Players any other club at his level would love to have but we just don't seem to utilise them well.

My biggest concern on 22:23 - Aug 30 with 936 views | ArnieM | Its the manager trying to shoe horn players to fit his system, but not trying to maximise a player's individual or collective strengths..... Davis now being asked to play an " inverted" position being just one example. His attacking threat is now zero and Philogene ( who Davis has been inverted to accommodate), has zero bloody threat anyway.... " trust the process". Yer, right... Sell, buy, sell, buy, sell, buy ...revolving doors for players at this club now. Obscene levels of spending ( Ashtons MO at Bristol), arguably " better" players in, but NOT a "team" . McKenna's got what he wants... HIS squad , (only Chaplin and Woolfenden left) and the latter is leaving..... 6 wins in what, 47 games now is it. The squad is in constant overhaul. The best " team" consisted largely of Paul Cooks players, but he was booted out before he could do much with them. How long will the owners keep handing Ashton a blank cheque I wonder..... Will it be yet another new squad next season I wonder? [Post edited 30 Aug 22:25]

My biggest concern on 22:34 - Aug 30 with 886 views | BlacknGoldnBlue | I think the biggest concern is a defence that should be very comfortable at this level. A defence where the two centre backs are in their 2nd season together. A defence with the highly experienced Young, one of the few Ipswich players that didn't look out of place last year DoS, Grieves who was in team of the year last time at this level and Lief - who created so much the last time at this level. This defence has looked shaky, it looks like it will concede. I think most fans expected us to build a championship-winning team on our defence and I think thats my biggest concern so far this year!

My biggest concern on 23:17 - Aug 30 with 768 views | eirannach_gorm | My biggest concern is that this walking football possession game puts no pressure on the opposition. The desperately slow transition from back to front gives even the poorest defence time to funnel all their players back. This not a new thing as we have had issues since the last time we were in the Championship with the low block. Compound the slow build up with the fact we have cornered the market in lightweight wingers and forward players means that very few times we have players running forward when they receive passes. The only thing these players bring to the table is being nippy and fast and we are slowing the game down. There seems to be no urgency to get the ball forward and I don't mean hoofing it. What will be the point of Nunez amazing through balls if nobody is running on to them? What is the point of the highly regarded wingers if they get the ball standing still or even worse, with their back to goal. What's the point of a solo forward who is good in the air if there are no crosses coming in? I don't understand how McKenna does not see it or does nothing to address these problems. We need to change the tactics and mindset that got us relegated from the Premiership with a whimper.

Our defence is woeful at the moment. Never rated Greaves...yes he scored today but the guy is all over the place defensively. Davis is a shadow of his former self. Not sure what we are doing with our right backs...who is our no:1 choice there? O'Shea...still not convinced. We miss Burgess. We miss Axel.

My biggest concern on 00:24 - Aug 31 with 609 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | Cajuste will have to adapt to the level, which is weird to say for a player essentially stepping down the leagues. Had a couple of heavy touches but also set away some very good opportunities that the front players wasted.

Which leads to being very obvious how to set up against us. McKenna even in the amazing days does seem to be a stick to the script type coach, whether it’s tactics or planned substitutions. Not sure I can ever really remember him make changes at halftime for example, like for example even Liverpool had to do last year against Delap. This isn’t some anti McKenna rant but is what I consider a flaw in quite a few pragmatic style coaches. [Post edited 31 Aug 0:31]

This. It's clear that Kieran is a stickler for 'process' and 'patterns of play'. The players in 22/23 and 23/24 absolutely bought in to the process and that is, imo, why we got back to back promotions. We now have a load of new players that need to a) learn the process/patterns and b) trust the process/patterns of play. I'm pretty confident that CAN happen, but in the interim, we have to expect games like today. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
My biggest concern on 07:16 - Aug 31 with 279 views | BlueForYou | We need to bring in a new defence coach, quickly. Our centre backs are way below the required standard. But this doesn't ever seem to be a concern. That concerns me.
