My God this is a gamble 😬 23:23 - Sep 1 with 453 viewsThatMuhrenCross

On paper, we have one hell of a squad, but we’re a long way from looking like a cohesive team unit. With the core of our back to back side now completely gone, McKenna has one hell of a job on his hands to get this team to click. I’m nervous.

Same.

I really don't want us to go into the next window looking to buy players for positions it turns out we've recruited poorly for already.

You probably should be but it’s a lot more interesting than what happened for over 10 years pre Covid if nothing else.

The short term is crucial as well, 4-5 games and finishing with Norwich. Everyone will be feeling much better or it could be quite toxic if it goes wrong.

I’m not sure today’s moves really change any outlook though, just all seems to be hitting home for some.

If McKenna is as heavily involved in all this summers transfer decisions as he should be, he's being incredibly brave.

He's basically backing himself to achieve, with the squad he has now, at least the same as he did with his 'first' squad.
Otherwise what's the point in ripping it apart?

Its Ferguson-esque in it's clinicalness, and if he can pull it off then he'll be right up there with the very best to have sat in that chair.

He inherited a lot of his first squad and made it work. Am pretty sure he knows what he's doing and will come good

I agree.

I'm just not sure how many on here have the same measured view.

McKenna swings from being the Messiah to the Anti-Christ about 20 times a game depending on the latest excellent pass or piece of poor positioning.

Our fans have more of a history of being patient when results don't go our way than becoming "toxic". I hope and expect we'll afford Kieran the same patience and support as we have done in the past as he's already proven himself to be a very impressive coach and I think we'd be bonkers to force him out with any toxicity.

If there's one person currently at the club that looks placed to achieve greater things, it's Kieran McKenna. So, I'd rather we did our best for as long as possible to keep him at Ipswich for as long as possible.

EDIT: I should acknowledge that you Joey-Joe are not calling for KMcK's head, nor are you trying to bring on toxicity at the club while the results are not coming in.
