After a relatively quiet start, maybe due to nervousness until we scored the second goal, I thought the crowd was the best it has been for what seems a very long time with much of the ground joining in on several chants.
The only thing for me is we seem to have given up on the "We've got Super Kieran McKenna song" which I always enjoyed when the manager and players came to the North Stand after the game.
Greavesy at the back, Hirsty in attack would do the trick for me.
EDIT: it was also the first game in a long time when we played better in the second half attacking the North Stand. Indeed, raising our game in the second half was often a feature of our two promotion-winning seasons. And it helped that we now have so much quality on the bench, something that wasn't the case last season but was the previous two. [Post edited 13 Sep 10:33]

I heard a few different versions last night, but I think the best is Dara at the back, Chuba in attack.
Thought the atmosphere was pretty nervous and flat to begin with but 2nd half was much better. The team doesn’t need the crowd where we’re 3 or 4 up though, need to play our part from the start. Leave the nerves at home, it’s an entertainment business go along and have some fun. Win, lose or draw. |  | | |

Seemed in decent enough voice overall.
I'm turning into an old man, so will probably get pelters for this but I thought the 'sacked in the morning' stuff was overdone and a bit juvenile. Maybe once or twice but seemed our go to song for a chunk of the second half. Maybe as people have said we're lacking some of the classics with so many players leaving. |  | | |

Our home atmosphere actually sounds horrific on TV, whereas our away atmosphere always comes across well.
The North seems a shadow of it’s former self but you can just tell times have changed in there, why don’t we sing any of our old decent songs anymore?
We also need a proper anthem, can’t we just pick a decent song and adopt it lol. As much as Edward Ebeneezer is unique it’s not pre match hair on the back of your neck type song.
Did Sunderland fans always sing Wise Men for example?
The best football songs don’t involve fast clapping soccer AM style rubbish, we’ve always lacked a decent anthem really. [Post edited 13 Sep 14:15]
