Probably Brentford was the more suitable destination for Omari, given relative strength & depth of squads, but I strongly suspect he has no regrets about leaving us. If he isn't able to play his way into a mid-table PL team then he'll invariably be loaned out to a lowly PL team in due course, while retaining the excellent financial package he's just secured. And if the hypothetical fallback weren't to bear fruit either then he'd be left reflecting that he "cashed in" on his value at the right time this summer, probably.
On a separate note, I have no issue with the word "fanbase". It's been widely used as a single word for some time, and in more professional environments than a footy forum lol. | | | |

They’ll have great careers, two of the best quality players we’ve had in decades.
We should celebrate them .., we weren’t good enough to retain them.., the worst record in professional football in the last 12 months.
That will see our best quality players go.hardly their fault. We need to focus on being much better to retain that level of quality.

He wanted PL action and (importantly) has strong self belief, hence how he pushed on so much for us.
I would say he most likely knew what he was getting into, and preferred it over a season in a lower division.
