Thanks. Why is that rule being so obviously ignored and leading to dangerous situations for the opposition team? Never heard a peep from the commentators or any protests from us. Surely a word in the 4th official's ear pointing it out could be communicated to the ref ? | |

We were debating this during the game. It looked as though he had developed a technique whereby his foot comes off the ground momentarily after he has released the ball. Similar to how they plant their foot clearly on the pitch while taking the throw and slide it back to the line (sometimes!) by the time they release the ball. |  | | |

The last part is wrong. It should read ‘walk down the touchline for as long as you like while pretending where to throw the ball. And then take another 3 yard run up before releasing the ball’

Yes, I think the interpretation of the rule is "somewhere within 30 yards of where the ball went out as long all 30 yards are gained in increments rather than at once." |  |
