| Usual insightful and honest comments from Kieran, this one stood out.. 14:46 - Oct 15 with 1351 views | unstableblue | “I think we've shown identity in periods but over games a long way off it. Front-footed, aggressive team, togetherness, but takes time to build that in a team that can show that consistently week after week, on good days and bad days. Promising signs but being complete as a group, a long way to go.” Think that’s a really good and honest assessment of where we’ve been in last 4 or 5 games, especially Bristol. You can see the dominant and exciting team we can be, but it’s not consistent through a game, positive patterns sporadic, and there’s still a concern we can get beaten. Obviously even the best teams aren’t brilliant for 90mins solid… but we’re often 20-30mins where we really purr this season, then drop back and a few errors. Hopefully on Friday night we can go up a gear. In what will be a tough match. (Do love Phil’s live presser updates, good addition to forum) | |

I don't think we need to improve the 'good' aspects of our game - when we are good, we are more than good enough for any team in this division. We just need to improve those period where collectively and individually we switch off - I think that is all we pretty need. Simplified (there's a ton behind this thinking) version. I've never understood this. Surely it's much easier to say, "every week.."

That’s the way to tackle this league and also entertain your fans. Too many managers focus on ‘keep it tight and try to nick one in our moments’.

In fairness, I think the repetition of "week" in the phrase helps create the monotony of the meaning that the phrase itself is trying to convey.

Despite them being prime for a 6-1 they had a few chances and one golden one to make it 2-2. The 45th - 65th minute was just nowhere near good enough for a team that wants to be top 2. This is my main concern, so many bang average sides keep getting a look in when they should be 4 down by then (see also Portsmouth at home). Of course we won't be winning 6-1 weekly nor exepct to but the difference between the class of 2024 group and this group is that *individually* we should not be allowing really poor teams hope. (See also first 20 vs Sheff U at home). As God says it's getting there but for me we're miles off thus far.
