I actually thought he was okay tonight and was unlucky to be hooked. He was starting to look dangerous and had lots of space down the right linking up with Young. In a way it summed up how unbalanced and desperate we are at the moment, because we had to move Clarke over to play a position that isn't his, just because he was our only genuine treat.
But...Ogbene played the whole game for Sheffield United tonight in a 3-1 away win. Is it valid to question the decision to let him go out?

I think they definitely think of him as a younger Burns. Issue is Burns cost peanuts and although his crossing was slightly erratic when he joined he still back then carried a more of a threat than McAteer is currently offering. |  | | |

Clarke had no end product. If dribbling into traffic is a measure of success then he had a good game. Rarely brings others into play, doesn't look up, dribbles, cuts inside and then tries to shoot. Like early Hutchinson. |
That's patently not true. Last night he created several good opportunities for players, including putting one on a plate at the back post for Akpom to nod in.

I think it's a valid question. Personally I think our view of Ogbene is tainted by the fact that he's not here, because I don't think he's the answer and with Burns return imminent he wouldn't get much game time here.

Ogbenne isn’t a good player because McAteer isn’t - why can’t you constructively criticise people? In case it’s not popular?
And why can’t a right footbed Jack Clarke play on the right? Because it doesn’t suit McKenna pure ideals? .., he was excellent when he switched, he can do either and he probably is our best right side option. It would certainly suit Hirst more to have at least the option of a potential cross, rather than only Leif on the overlap as an option.
