FM26 11:28 - Nov 5 with 1044 viewsglasso

Anyone taken the plunge yet? I might stick to FM24 for a while as I'm pretty skint and I'm hearing the new one is buggy. Interested to hear people's thoughts, though.

And if anyone's got any tips on FM24 signings, I'm all ears. Xeka the free agent works wonders next to Morsy and Moukoko is available on a loan from Dortmund (and willing to join us) but I never quite manage to get the deal done with our paltry finances....

It's VERY different to previous editions - biggest changes they've ever made IMO

It's been buggy but it's because it's been the beta up until full release yesterday - it's supposed to be buggy so users can help fix the problems before it's released for real

I think the match engine is the best it has ever been and so it shows potential over its lifetime but it takes some REAL getting used to as it has a completely different look and feel compared to prior versions. Some good additions to the game, such as an instant result button.

Worth a purchase - especially at c. 45 quid

Yeah have had it a while.

Won the league with Town first season and then finished 9th in the Prem. 2-2 draw with Bretford to start the third season.

Enjoying it.

It’s not really supposed to be buggy.

The aspiration would be for 0 bugs. Particularly after 2 years.

It’s a weird mess at the moment.

I don’t have masses of free time between work and dad life, but when I do have an hour or two spare, I love FM24, specifically the additional Norwegian lower league database. Think I’ll stick with this until FM26 release's similar additional databases…my journey with Åndalsnes must continue.

I did say on here that in Alpha a few of us weren't optimistic as to how people will receive it. I think that FM24 with updated data is much better than FM26. FM26 does look pretty, but it doesn't present information very well at all.

I know FM loves big data, but if we go back to a lot of people's favourite (01/02), it was simple, a little crude, but a lot of fun. Now we have information and data bloat that just make things more like a chore than I think they should be.

Long story short, FM26 isn't great, its a 6.5/10 and Sports Interactive need to figure out a way to make the game more fun again.

You've hit the nail on the head. I spend a lot of my time in front of spreadsheets, FM has increasingly felt like a glorified one itself in recent iterations.

I want escapism.

It does seem a bit easy. But then again, I'm a twenty year vet of the game.

I got a refund on it. I found the UI utterly horrendous to work with and information so laborious and complicated to find.

I may return to it if some mods appear with skins to make it look more attractive and user friendly but it is miles off the layout of fm24 where you knew where to find everything. The screens have so much redundant space, can't view the whole league table on a page etc.

It just feels like a bit of a console experience on a laptop to me.

Agree. Sometimes I do question if I want to open the laptop, assess the data for next opponent and then setup training for the week ahead…only for the opposition to change formation before KO and trounce me 3-0. If FM26 is even more data focussed I’ll be leaving it.

I didn't sign anyone first season apart from a young Gk, so rotated between those we've got IRL
