Firstly, the following *is not to excuse a defeat that occurred in a depressingly predictable manner*. But it was incredibly bad in there – just nothing going on, utterly dead and passive, even in those moments when we were on top or had momentum. About five people near the back trying to start songs. Quite a lot of interest in booing and abusing individual players but a lot less in offering encouragement or responding to what positive cues were offered on the pitch. Obviously fair play to all shelling out to make that trip from Ipswich on a Friday night etc etc but I think our fanbase is losing its way somewhat, if I'm honest. Very sad. Perhaps it's partly attributable to the deep-down knowledge that nothing will ever beat May 2024 but I'd say we have a perspective issue and need to kick it.
