Wasn’t he linked towards the end of the summer window? I still think we’ll want a right sided central defender/ Woolf replacement which we didn’t get done, but it’s a hard one to recruit for. If we end up with 4 who all expect to start that’s a good thing in some respects by way of cover, but it’s difficult to manage in a position where we don’t really want rotation and rightly won’t see it of our captain. Personally I’d keep our powder dry with the 3 we’ve got + Baggott and hope O’Shea stays fit.
It’s a similar question at left back where there’s limited natural cover for Davis, but another hard one to sign someone worth signing, but happy to sit behind Leif in the pecking order. |  | | |

He was never a bad player when he was here, just not remotely what we needed at the time, which was a Cameron Burgess type rather than a kid with no league experience. But that's the fault of the Lambert/Evans madness at the time, not him.
He's turned into a decent player and good luck to him. But I hope we're aiming a little higher these days. [Post edited 7 Dec 11:12]

I’m not sure, Kipre has looked less than convincing of late, Greaves makes too many errors, could do with a rock next to O’Shea. | |

CM is the priority IMO. In doing so I think it releases Nunez to only be considered in that more advanced role which I think is where he can do most damage, he’s a different profile of ‘10’ and more an advanced 8 in a 3, but I think that’s where we’ll head in a fluid way and we need to play to his strengths. I thought he was superb yesterday, his best performance in a Town shirt by some distance.
For me if we get 1 big ticket signing in the middle it would be a gamechanger in terms of the balance of our team and squad. Perhaps frees Humphreys up for a loan as well.
That’s the priority, plus another #9 to push Hirst. Ivan puts himself about but I would worry for us if Hirst gets crocked, which isn’t out of the question given his history.
Get those 2 additions right, and get Burns back in contention and we’re set. | | | |
