Just watched the Town in 5.

Hirst's fist pumps were very tame. Worse that some of Nunez's. Come on man, give it some oompf.

If a large portion of the fanbase had given me pelters for the majority of the season (justified or not) I wouldn't really be up for it either tbh

Agreed, 6/10 at best.

I want to see Walton with some fist pumps, big hands = big fist pumps.

It was fun when we first did it, and felt quite unique with Chambers. Was still fun during the b2b promotions and HarryC.

But everyone does it now. It's utterly cringy when a manager does it (thankfully its not a KM thing).

Time to find something new.

Feels like Jack Taylor would be the best one of the current crop.

Unless Hazza makes a return of course.

Yeah, I have found myself wondering if Chambers was the first to do it as back then it didn't seem too common. With HC being a spiritual successor to Chambers it felt right. But with everyone doing it now it does just feel a bit PR and inorganic and for the content.

I'm sure I remember a Brighton fan saying that our celebrations at the Amex with the Chambers fist pumps was something from a Nazi rally.

Definitely wasn't commonplace back then, and it was great.

I think it was first done shortly after MM joined and a vital 1-0 home win vs Burnley. So November 2013.

I have vivid memories a year later after a 1-0 win vs Watford (one of my favourite games of that era) and then the Charlton "Noel Hunt" game.

But I don't recall opposition teams doing it, and I saw enough teams beating us.

Ha, that's a classic and still not even in the top two biggest Brighton blubs about us.

(2. was someone complaining it was homophobic that one of our players pulled Jonny Williams' shorts down after we won there in 2014).

That December 2015 game was a good day out, took ages getting back with engineering work but well worth the effort. Murphy and then a really solid defensive performance.

Okay for a first effort. Needs practice. Every Tuesday morning training session should include 15 minutes fist-pumping.

Never as cringe as when Mark Ashton tried it.

I wonder how they are so familiar with those niche goings-on at Nazi rallies.
