Kieran: “It simply wasn’t our day today.” 18:43 - Dec 13 with 595 viewsChris_ITFC

Sounds very level, pragmatic, upbeat, recognises today was always a tough fixture, made harder by misfortune. Always worth a listen to bring a few people down off the ledge.

Trouble is it ‘hasn’t been our day’ a few times this season.

Could accept that if we could at least pass the ball to each other in the first half.

I hope he understands how lost our midfield pair looked today.
I like Matusiwa, but I thought Matusiwa was arguably the worst player on the pitch because he helped Taylor and Clarke play worse by not being awake the entire game. Never supported the defense as much as he should in his role. Taylor and Clarke could not pass the ball properly. Philogene and Davis were completely lost without help from their midfield and right side. We spent £12m on a man who is behind a man who was playing out of position and misplacing every pass he attempted until the 80th minute. Again, who sanctioned that signing?

Once again, we've failed to recruit midfielders and a proper striker. Instead we invested in more attacking midfielders and 10s. What is the plan? If we only signed Egeli instead of anyone else it would have been good enough in those positions. Ogbene did not need to leave on loan.

This is the second season in a row that our midfield performances are costing us. Forget the striker, I think the midfield is our largest problem on the entire pitch, and Hackney not coming here has 100% hurt us, and it's unfortunate that he didn't come here, but I think we didn't plan out a proper backup option to his rejection if we were going to go back for Cajuste on loan.

Yeah he's just very level headed.

We will be okay. I thought we looked tired today.

Time to reset again.

Leicester's form until today's game LLWD. Hardly bloody earth shattering is it.

That doesn't surprise me, given the way they setup

It looked very dull albeit some magic for Fatawu

For me, the lack of serious competition for the two CM places and the number 9 is a factor in our inconsistency.

A player who has no real sense of urgency to bring their A-game every time, in order to keep their place is always going to have a handful, if not more, of poor performances.

Always level headed.

But we weren’t good enough on the day, as has been the case one too many times already this season.

It is the reason we are touching the top 2, and why we will be in a scrabble bag for a play off place.

As a collective, still look a long way from where we want and need to be.
