Millwall away - Parking 08:44 - Dec 15 with 1418 views

I am driving to London for the Millwall game.

1) What sort of tube/train service will be running boxing day? Will it be possible to park at say Stratford and get public transport?

2) Failing that would it be possible to park somewhere near the DLR and use that? if it is running.

3) Or is there another safer option?

I visited Millwall some time ago and the thought of street parking in the vicinity. Doesn't fill me with seasonal cheer.

Trains aren’t running.

London overground will get you to Surrey Quays, but it’s not easy to connect from the east.

DLR is running, but doesn’t really help.

Jubilee line from Stratford to Canada Water is the best option and walk from there.

Personally I’ll be driving to Newbury Park, parking there and getting the Central Line to Stratford.

The Elizabeth Line won't be working though, so the option of parking at Shenfield isn't on.

Going back to the OP, that area of south east London isn't particularly scary these days, so I'll be parking in New Cross and walking to the ground.

Bear in mind though that the A12 at Gallows Corner is closed which will complicate your route and add to journey time.

Google Maps even suggests as an alternative going via the M11.

But I imagine early on Boxing Day that won't be necessary.

Does anyone know what a Monday to Thursday end of day service actually mean?

Assume a reduced service, Is it every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes, every hour?

Depends on how many drivers decide to turn up for their overtime.
They also had a history of refusing to work on Boxing Day despite this having been agreed in their generous contracts.
