Ok, it wasn’t the strongest opposition on Saturday, but it struck me how quickly Kipre is improving now he’s settling and playing regularly. It was a monster performance. He was powerful, tidy and assured. You certainly wouldn’t want to tangle with Steamroller Cedric.

He was West Brom's POTS a couple of seasons back. Is it such a surprise? Him - and Furlong to a lesser extent - are good solid signings.

In the Premier League £15m defenders sit on the bench........!

However, I doubt we get near that money for him so could well cut our losses if we went up again.

From what i've seen (I didn't see him at Hull) is he's a decent championship CB. Can he improve? I'm not sure. Therefore he's definitely not going to play in the PL next year (EDIT: if we get there!)

I do agree he probably isn't going to be quite there as a premier player even as back up, but that's the point of the player churn in a way. It takes multiple transfer windows to develop, not just a team but a squad that can even vaguely be considered anywhere near prem standard. At least next time we'd have 'not quite enough, but very good championship player' as our sub's when last time it was the likes of AAH, Luongo, H Clarke, even harness and Jackson for a small time.
Similar with Clarke and Philogene, a strong possibility that they won't be prem starters if we went up, but that's a much stronger squad if they're back up vs what we had before.
