| Worst ever london away end? on 22:22 - Dec 26 by Edmundo | This won't be popular but is it a combination of the points system meaning only the same people tend to go, who've seen some awesome performances but now are "meh", combined with the loss of our bond with the 22-24 promotions squad. |
A load of bollòcks. | |

Don’t buy this. Most of the away games this season have been available to lower points brackets or even general sale, so it’s got nothing to do with regulars or points systems. Last season, we had to listen to season ticket holders moaning that they couldn’t get an away ticket. But all they needed to do was attend 6 away games in our promotion season and they would have been ok if they kept going regularly. Now those same moaners have got no excuse. Away tickets are readily available at the moment and they know exactly what’s coming if we get promoted. Same goes for anyone who feels they can improve the atmosphere. Just buy a ticket and turn up. Trouble is it’s all linked to success. The fairweather fans only want to come if we’re winning. They bleat about not being able to go to Arsenal but don’t fancy heading to Hull. For the most part, I would say our away atmospheres have been pretty good but Millwall was a classic example of the fans needing a spark on the pitch to get going. We’re not alone as a fanbase with that. It’s very much a cultural thing in England compared to somewhere like Germany but we’re certainly far from being the worst. | | | |

| Worst ever london away end? on 18:11 - Dec 26 by J2BLUE | I wasn't there but we should be giving some praise to those who were at 1pm on Boxing Day with reduced rail/tube service. It's quite an investment this time of year in terms of money, time and sacrificing seeing family. |
It is a huge investment in terms of time, money etc. But, we have a small percentage of the ground we can fill with Ipswich supporters at an away game, and we are heavily out numbered by the home fans. If we don't sing, or make ourselves heard, we lose the potential benefits. - players play with more confidence - players play with more freedom, knowing they are being backed - motivates the players to want to add in that extra 10% - improves bond between players and fans We don't need 100% of people to sing, but we need more people putting more effort in than we are getting the last few away games. We are 3rd right now, we would have given our right arm to be in this position in most of the last 20 seasons, we could easily go up if we get behind this team, and regardless of how well we perceive our performances to be right now, if we can get promoted, and re-invest again, we have a better chance of staying up next time round. I want to see us challenging for the top 6 in the Premier League, getting back into Europe. Maybe even win another trophy, and there is only one way that is going to happen, for us to get promoted. But re: praising people that make the effort to go, I do agree it is a huge commitment, but if everyone does not sing, then we have a fairly flat away end which is what we have seen the past few away games, and our performances reflect that. Hull in fact, was one of our better away ends. Our job as the away end, is to get behind the team. Cov are going to be very loud today, we need to match them. [Post edited 29 Dec 2025 7:11]
