| Why is buying a ticket so hard?! 23:28 - Dec 30 with 1897 views | marvellous | I'm trying to buy (restricted view) tickets for my son, my wife and I for the Oxford game but I can't! I log in with my son's account as he was a Foul back in the 23/24 season and I'm told I can't buy an adult ticket because I'm 7, so created a new account in my wife's name to be told that we cannot buy a children's ticket because I'm +40! I just want to go to the football FFS!!! [Post edited 30 Dec 2025 23:29]

But that's just unnecessarily conveluted. I just want to buy 3 tickets for my family FFS

I.e. they are all down as you. Just correct the child seat to your son and then you will be able to checkout (assume this is the problem).

I much preferred the days when you could just rock up to matches and pay on the gate, and 'all ticket' matches were the exception rather than the rule. But everything in life is now self-serve.

I think this is your problem. Put three seats in your basket then you need to assign the correct age category to your listed friends and family and boom

You could say "My son, my wife and I are trying to buy tickets" which would be correct, because you have switched the subject and object around. The "I or me" rule hinges on function: use "I" as the subject (doer of the action, e.g., I went to the store) and "me" as the object (receiver of the action, e.g., The dog chased me). For compound phrases (like "You and I/me"), remove the other person: if "I went" sounds right, use "You and I"; if "me went" sounds wrong (but "They saw me") use "You and me" as objects. But I won't say anything as my New Year's Resolution on here is to be not so bl00dy pedantic when it comes to use of grammar. Oh, it's still 2025. I'm OK. But I agree. My grandkids had their own memberships as Jumior Blues and I seem to remember they had to have unique email adresses when they were 5 and 6 years old or some such nonsense. Best to phone the ticket office. They're usually very helpful when you talk to them.

Thank you for this. I always appreciate a grammar lesson as I feel it's important. Anyway, after much messing around with creating accounts, adding to friends & family, etc., I managed to get all 3 of us plus a friend tickets for today's game. We haven't been since the 23/24 season so we're very excited.
