Have to admire Christian Walton 11:02 - Dec 31 with 707 viewscbower

He has been a model professional for ITFC. Must have been hard to watch Hladky go an entire season because of Wally's pre-season injury. In comes Muric but Walton eventually gets his chance in the Prem, does OK but gets injured again, in comes Palmer and Christian is no 2 again. No sign of anything other than professionalism from him and since Palmer's injury against Charlton, Wally has just got better and better. Probably been our most consistent performer in the lat 10 games, barely put a foot wrong. So glad for him, a fine servant to this club through thick and thin and in the form of his life.

Looked at some GK stats, and for keepers who have played >15 league games for us, Christian Walton has the best clean sheet percentage in the clubs history…..obviously there are ‘reasons’ but Alex Palmer has the worst!

This season Palmer is 1 in 10 and Walton 7 in 14

Totally agree, seems to be a great person. He seems to have really improved with his feet, almost Hladky like in the last 2-3 games. Also has seemed much better at getting down to low shots recently (compared to first few games back in the team). Wouldn’t it be amazing if he turned out to be the keeper that we think we may need to buy?

A model pro, and a real testament to how KMc manages to keep 'understudies' up and running.

Look at how Walton has come in and made the shirt his own, and how the likes of Edmundson and Greaves have generally hit the ground running for cameo appearances.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Without doubt our most improved player in the first half of this season. Has developed his ability with the ball at his feet and his keeping on the whole has been very very good.

I was one of his biggest critics, but I don't consider that we need another keeper (at least right now), which is very different to what I thought in August / September.

Same. Also Muric was purchased partly off the basis of his all around statistics. One thing you can’t gauge by those metrics is the unquantifiable nature of confidence between the keeper and back 4. Some have it / create it some don’t. Maybe Muric was unlucky - he lost it immediately and never got it back. You could just feel the tension / uncertainty emanating from the pitch. And also with Palmer a bit as well.

But Walton overall makes the back 4 feel more assured. And that is so important and shows up in the clean sheet stats.
