| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

I would happily give up the Triple Lock for an increase based on just RPI. But it's currently wage inflation, 2.5% or CPI. The government could save money in many ways. Ditch the £10 Christmas bonus, make people pay for prescriptions until they are of official retirement age unless they have certain problems that require everyday medication and make people who continue to work beyond their official retirement age pay N.I. This could be offset by an increase on the State Pension .Currently you need 35 years of paying N.I. to get the full SP. When coming up to my retirement 44 years were required and I get the old SP which is over £80 per 4 weeks less than the new SP.

We just need a fairer distribution of wealth. The super rich are getting richer by the day, yet we're being told that immigrants and pensioners are the reason for the failing economy. Perversely many people admire these billionaires, it's absurd.

We do. Although the triple lock is neither here nor there in term of those inequalities. £15bn? Pah, it’s the fraction of a Brexit. Well less than 10% of an NHS. It’s estimated that up to £800bn of wealth is off-shored and hidden from the tax man by the super rich. Triple lock peanuts in comparison.

How are frothy tech valuations and volatile rare earth/mineral prices linked to the cost of living crises? For every Oracle and Tesla there is Diageo and Greggs where share prices have been like catching a falling knife. To me the cost of living (not a crisis, as crises are short term and acute) is just the worst of capitalism in action. Low growth, higher inflation, relatively high cost of capital and a punitive tax ecosystem from low efficiency, high national debt and an aging population. Targeting billionaires is gratifying but it's all paper wealth from excessively frothy share prices. No aim seems to be taken at BlackRock, Berkshire Hathaway or Goldman that hold genuinely staggering levels of actual cash.
