I guess with Gallagher we were looking for a Hirst backup, would have thought this time we’d be looking for equal or better than Hirst given our resources.

Been watching the game. All rivalry aside, it's absolutely crap, low energy rubbish. Stoke significantly better than budgies, but both are really, really bad. Gallagher doesn't look anything like mobile enough for us these days. | |

I think and most certainly hope we are shopping in a different supermarket to those mentioned these days! I assume that's the same Lyndon Dykes with 21 appearances for Brum this season, 2 goals and no assists and I believe at least one of those was a penalty and up to mid November 2025, 46 appearances 3 goals for Brum ( wikipedia ). As for SG 4 in 32 for Stoke thus far. | | | |

The art of this has to be someone who will improve us regardless of what we have. Many of the recruits have been excellent. But maybe as to be expected one or three have not been as good as expected when it was stated that we wouldn't be buying unless they improved us.
Sometimes it's taking a chance with someone and it either pays off or doesn't. But given that we require Premier League football to satisfy our paymasters just taking a punt isn't going to get the required result. Even spending many millions as Liverpool have found to their cost can have a downside.
It will of course mean that a few will have to be moved on to make way for new faces.
I think it would be foolhardy to let the likes of Philogene go, even for mid thirties to low 40 millions as if we are to get to the Prem and stay there we need a very strong squad. | | | |
