It's really poor, smaller clubs seem to have taken steps to prevent it. You'd expect a recent PL one to have similar in place.

Perfectly understandable gripe to have - I’m not sure what happened at Sheffield U, but the EFL should get a grip on this issue. If a club postponed a match due to a frozen pitch etc then the match should be replayed at the ‘away’ teams ground.
I understand freak weather happens and teams in L1 and L2 may lack cash to invest in this but for a club like SU it’s just ludicrous. | | | |

Sickness happens - even if teams have to put out an U18 team, clubs have an obligation to fulfil fixtures. If they can’t, then they should forfeit with the opposition getting the three points.
It’s a frozen pitch not thirty centimetres of snow.

Sunny in Portsmouth currently and expected to rise to 5 degrees before kick off.

It should be made compulsory as part of the Premier League guidelines.
We had to spend a fortune on our ground to bring it up to scratch, it's unbelievable that undersoil heating for example is not part of those requirements.
There is even funding available to help with the costs from various source. [Post edited 4 Jan 11:43]
