I think only Celtic would take him and he's not going there when we have a very good chance of going up again.

Nancy joined so recently, we should probably just go dig out the Celtic thread from before, rather than restart the ‘which club is bigger’ debate.

Celtic obviously a huge club but they are stuck in a small pond. Not somewhere for someone like him to go.

No, I’d agree. United won’t go for a Celtic manager, but they might go for a Palace / Bournemouth manager… or you look at Brighton / Brentford managers in the past etc. Those sort of clubs are his best opportunity to get to the top (if not us).

He wants to manage in the best leagues. Going to Celtic would be, at absolute best, a sideways move.

Go to Celtic turn them round win the league at least once in a couple of seasons and he’ll get a massive PL job like Ange and Gerrard.

| Chelsea, United, Celtic… on 16:23 - Jan 5 with 615 views | Churchman | Was out and about earlier and listening to some worthys dribbling on Talknonsense, but they did make an interesting point. If you go to a big club like Chelsea, Man U, Spurs, even Celtic in their tinpot league, you are there to coach the players supplied to you and to take the blame. That is what you are there for. The moment that you think you are more important than that, like Amorim or Maresca did, you are toast. Now if you are an ambitious manager like KM obviously is, do you accept that and the loot that goes with it or go to a smaller club where you can actually manage? My guess is you take the top of the heap role in the knowledge that you will be out of the door pretty quickly, but your reputation will be undamaged, given how these clubs operate. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

And if you’re one of those clubs, it’s MUCH easier to manage a Maresca, Rosenior, McKenna than it is a Conte, Zidane or Tuchel.

That rather relies on the Board at Celtic helping him.....

KM was sorely tempted when a God among men here, achieving historic firsts for himself. Now he's repeating a past trail, the sequel has fallen somewhat flat and he feels that absence of joy. Previous opportunities were filled by alternatives who now enjoy high stock, Glasner exceedingly high. Caretakers for everyone please.
