Not a rumour or anything, but just from reading the EADT piece on possible midfielders and watching the video there. (annoying caption ignored)
This guy looks brilliant as an investment for us. Very powerful and knows exactly how to use his body in a challenge (very similar to Matusiwa there). Looks very calm on the ball (maybe in a slower league though?) Looks a bit more progressive than Matu, but maybe not as mobile / Wark-like.
Overall quite a similar player to Matu, and they've obviously played together before. He could definitely fulfil the role of Matu back-up but maybe wouldn't come on that basis, BUT I could definitely see a midfield two of Matu/Lopy working to fully release our front four at this level AND being a very solid and effective pairing for us if we get up.
Ideally I'd like the second half of this season to be as much about building a team for next season as possible, so long obviously as we can stay on track for top two.
I'm gonna go early and say I really want this transfer, would give us a fantastic CM base. |  |
