Question: When is a catch not a catch?

Answer: When it's the Bills.

And we thought officiating was controversial in football!

I was shocked to see the controversy around that call tbh. Cooks didnt make a football move when he was standing and never had control of the football when he was on the ground so never completed the catch. Amazing DB play from Mcmillan to jam that out.

Yep same, as someone else has already posted no one would have batted an eyelid had the ball just come out and hit the floor, incomplete pass no questions asked. The fact the DB made a great play to rip the ball out and came out with it seems to have melted minds

Highlighting crass stupidity since sometime around 2010

Also a lot of NFL talking heads are very pro Buffalo when they should know better.

I have issues with NFL refs more often than not but that was a sound call.

Yet the Adams catch was called a catch? Rodgers catch was called a catch earlier in the season?

Just be consistent - which is the same call for football referees.

Adams caught the ball, both feet on the ground, ball secured. Then went to ground by contact had his knee down the ball secured. Then the ball was ripped.

Cooks went straight to ground and so he has to have control of the ball through contact with the ground. He didn't.

Thanks - worrying the best description I've seen is on here. Part of me thinks the NFL live the controversy so let's things run rather than try and shut them down. Gives them a storyline for next year too, as the Bills are scheduled to play Denver.

Yep its very rare i defend the NFL refs lol. I do think that the analysts on the game do a pretty bad job of it as well. They never offer much insight in to the game they tend to just talk in slogans and hyperbole for most of it.

It is much better at the college level. I find the in game coverage so much better.

The sheer amount of dreadful PI calls that Riley Moss has suffered this year, made me feel like at last, something is finally in the Broncos favour. But when when looking at that, & the subsequent calls, all were 100% correct. Shame the holding on a Broncos player in the end zone wasn't called, that was blatant & would have been a safety, 2 points, & game over. Go you Broncos! & Remember this is the year of the Horse!

I have a lot of time for Riley Moss. He is a victim of playing opposite the best true cover corner in the NFL. QBs just tee off on him.

I was a big fan of him coming out at Iowa, just a really fluid, athletic DB.

Amazing game the Bills one was. Allen is so safe with the ball in the post season, was a shock to see some of those turnovers especially the one right before the half which gave up a field goal. Running a play was a risky shout in itself but whatever Allen tried there was very silly. As good as Allen is though, that roster just isnt set up to win a super bowl.

Great win for the Rams in a difficult spot. Stafford and McVay know how to get it done. But I do strongly fancy the seahawks.

LA dodged a bullet not the best night for McVay. Didn't run the ball enough or adjust to the Bears corner blitzs. Also got conservative to punt the ball back and give Chicago a chance. Not throwing to win the game on third down just before the 2 minute warning was poor situational awareness as the clock was stopping anyway.

Ridiculous play by Caleb, like unreal, 4th and 4, backpedals to throw a 40 yard touchdown but then they got greedy in OT. They only needed 15-20 yards to get into FG range to win it, too aggressive there. He has a live arm that's for sure.

Glad the Rams done it though. they have a better chance in Seattle with the familiarity of a divisional opponent and if it's anything like their last meeting just before Christmas could be in for a treat.

Two out of the 4 were incredible games again, just love this sport when it's like that.

Caleb out of structure is a truly special player. Elite level scrambler, as good as anyone at throwing on the move. He is the definition of makes the hard things look easy but easy things look hard. I'm a huge fan of him though, think he is going to be good for a long time. Luther Burden is another one of that roster I have high hopes for next year. I liked him way more than Matthew Golden or Egbuka coming out of the draft last year. They got some stud pass catchers when you add in Loveland as well. Bright future for the Bears I think.

Only issue is they need Dline help this offseason and there aren't many Dlinemen i like in the draft.

He's got the tools but a 3 pick night at home including when the game was on the line still points to a lot to clean up. I think he almost has too good an arm at times which can effect accuracy on the easier throws. He was well under 60% completion rate.

He never looks fazed for the biggest moment though and can pull something out of the hat that most can't.

I sometimes find when he has a clean pocket he throws the ball way too hard and has accuracy issues. Footwork issue imo, always been a thing for Caleb, even at USC he had a a questionable base. I actually think the really bad line he played behind at college got him used to having to run around and throw from crazy angles not fully set. But as you say he has always been someone who can pull something out of nothing, has a proper clutch gene that can't be taught. I went out and watched him at USC in his heisman season and I've been a fan since, will only get better with another year of Ben Johnson.

I'm cheering for the Broncos from the AFC but losing Nix is a huge blow.

If I have to nail my colour’s to the mast being a neutral but also not totally versed in the intricacies … for what it’s worth I’ll go Seahawks with my head and Broncos with my heart to appear in the Superb owl with Seattle winning.

Poll: Scottish clubs, by unwritten law we all have one, which one is yours ?
