ITFC logistics team - RAF Cosford is just over an hour's drive from Wrexham. Just saying. The team bus could travel the day before.
Btw, no complaints about the 5 from 6 home games in January, of which we're 2 from 2. It does however show that the EFL fixture computer needs a major upgrade.

One of the crapper draws we could get, that's two opportunities for us to be a scalp on their documentary and it's fecking miles away, only for us to go there a week later

Quoted on the Wrexham forum! They seem puzzled at our lack of excitement.

i'm going to have a guess that we will play a near normal team in the cup game... stay somewhere near wrexham that week and train somewhere local and then play the league game.. minimising training disruption etc maybe utilising the Eirias Stadium.

Lol hardly a glamour tie is it - smallest ground in the league and a historically lower tier opposition with very few honours.

It’s not like Ryan Reynolds is going to be there cracking jokes and pouring free pints for Town fans.

Think Budgies, or Liverpool at our place would have done it for me!

In that vein, and excitingly for older Wrexham fans, they are well on course for the best season in their history. 37th is the highest they've finished in English Football previously, aka 17th in the our league, with this now their 5th season at this level.

I doubt it. They fly pretty much everywhere now and they’ll be home by circa 10pm on the Saturday nigh and repeat the trip the following week.

A bit of s stretch I know, but RAF bases tend to have great sports facilities, classrooms and caterers. Travel Friday after training, hit the classroom Friday evening, Saturday morning training, win the match, come home. Job done. If it's not a thing then maybe it could be. The RAF has many community projects that I'm sure would benefit from additional revenue streams.

Agree. Would have been better at home but that's a tie we should win. Won't be easy there in either game but we should be confident.

The league game may be more of an issue because we’ve got Watford away a few days later. There’s no midweek game after the cup tie so would expect us to go fairly strong

Are they excited to be playing us? Surely, any tie against a team in the same league lacks some attraction simply because you are already going to be playing them anyway. That's before you factor in that it's away, in Wales (a long way away across country with poor travel links), at a tiny ground and against traditionally lower league opposition who are doing plenty well enough to give us a difficult challenge (although all lower league opposition do that for us in the cups anyway).

twice in week..😬

I don't suppose either club would entertain the idea of combining the matches.

Play one match that is the league match. If it is won by either side, it is the result for the cup too. If not, carry on to extra time and penalties for the cup!

Probably think we are below them now, no issue with that though - we are in a great place in terms of infrastructure, squad, ownership ans financial backing.

It’s also not exciting to me having watched their anti-football at PR. One of the worst home games this year for me, they completely lacked any ambition to win. I’m sure it will be different at their place, but to be honest that will probably play into our hands. They will want to go for it given their confidence and should be plenty of opportunity for Clarke to exploit!
