Is there any (preferably free) alternative to Photoshop that could handle a very simple photo edit?
The edit is this; a photo of eight basketball players sitting on a bench. Need to remove the player third from the left and move the other two players across.
Tried using AI and my word, nightmare fuel: face swaps, distorted bodies, random swapping of jersey numbers. All very odd. |  |

You could give Affinity a try.
It is suuposed to replace Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. The latest version is free to use, so might be worth giving that a shot. |  | | |

It is suuposed to replace Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. The latest version is free to use, so might be worth giving that a shot. |
Some good script libraries for Affinity as well which can help with a lot of the functionality.
I used to use it for astrophotography before moving to Pixinsight.

Seconded on GIMP. Good free alternative, you can also look around to find. A cheap coraldraw, that might be the CAD version, I can't remember. But they do a Photoshop version, I think I got them all for pennies in a humble bundle years ago, came with a dozen programs. [Post edited 23 Jan 18:55]

Thanks all. GIMP is too technical for me. Affinity is slightly more user friendly and is linked to Canva which I’m using anyway.
But I’m very much feeling like a caveman scratching on a cave wall with a rock. The very likely outcome is me finding a young person to make the edit for me. | |
