| I still think a striker should have been top priority 08:19 - Jan 27 with 2717 views | muccletonjoe | But I fully agree with those saying ut easier said than done. Certainly a top class championship goalscorer is not going to be available to us. I can't see us taking a punt on a striker from abroad. So it looks very likely to be what we already have for the rest of the season, which maybe puts promotion at risk , but we have got within a few points of the top with this squad. I think it is now time to make Azon the regular striker , he is the one who has shown the biggest improvement and use Hirst as the back up. Hopefully Clarke and Philogene can continue their contributions and get us over the line. I think the bolstering of midfield this week with the arrival of Neil is an important area to cover . A Matisuwa injury or suspension may well cost us otherwise. | | | | |

I will be pleasantly surprised if we can find one that is better than what we have. I like Azon’s general play and attitude. Good player. Just needs to find the net!!!

He is a winger that Clement has thrown upfront, low and behold a 6 foot 5 player with some mobility is going to cause chaos Ir's clearly working for them at the moment

| I still think a striker should have been top priority on 08:36 - Jan 27 by Bobbychase | As has been mentioned before, we signed Kieffer Moore on the final day of the transfer window of the Championship promotion season. Fully anticipating more ins (and outs) this week. |
Indeed. Last winter, nearly one third of signings by Championship clubs that window took place on the last day (31 out of 103). 56% happened within the final week (28th Jan to 2nd Feb). Similarly, if not more so, the previous season - 56.6% in the last week of the window, 39.5% on the final day.

However, I have seen him a few times now and he looks a proper handful. Palace, obviously think the same. Added to this, they got him for next to nothing shows there is value out there. We'll see if the Palace interest actually turns into anything concrete. A young striker hitting double figures will have people looking but whether they see enough to bid is another matter. To me to say he's raw would be an understatement, very much the case that his second touch is often a tackle. I do think technically he looks way off Prem level even if his size and athleticism goes in his favour.

6ft 5" at 21 years old and he does appear to have a nack of scoring goals will probably and unfortuantely, serve him and them well. If a player has the key attributes, which he does then his all round game can be worked on. A player with a little bit more ability but doesnt have the size will struggle far more in the PL. We saw that last year. I obviously hope it goes all spectacularly wrong for him and them but I think we do need to accept they have a player with a fair bit of potential taken from the lower leagues, and we havent been able find anyone of the same profile in a couple of windows (yet) with far more apparent resources.

They are a bit freer than us to take that kind of gamble though. If we'd signed Makama in the summer there'd have been uproar. And frankly, if we'd signed him I doubt he'd have played very much for us by now. We're shopping in a very different market right now.
