The leadership quality that Neil will bring 11:52 - Jan 27 with 1649 viewsThe_Romford_Blue

Ought to be worth the signing in itself.

Particularly for games when we fall behind away from home

Agreed, we’ve missed that midfielder who takes responsibility when things are going against us and demands the ball, resets the tempo and wrestles the advantage back from the opposition. If he can supply that, we’ll be laughing

Could be a really important signing once he's up to speed. Shades of Mass in League 1. Him and Mehmeti are v astute additions. Plus, you'd presume, still leaves plenty in the kitty for one or two more if the right opportunities present themselves.

We are demonstrably (a bit) lacking in character and fight unless the team is purring, and especially depending who gets the first goal. This is not to say a lack of application, they do try, and O'Shea is not a bad captain per se. But we lack great leadership. It's quite stark having experienced Morsy's team.

Gut instinct says he will connect really well on that left sided area of the pitch with Davis and Jack Clarke.

100%.

Lacking a bit of personality, character and leadership on the pitch. Morsy and Chaplin left a big void in that respect you feel.

Feel we are slowly adding that back into the group though, Davis, Burns, Taylor all have that from the previous group, you feel the likes of Furlong, O'Shea and Neil can add to that in this group.

Without being overly critical of the leadership on the pitch, it is fair to say that it's not quite up to the levels of Morsy's time, but that partly comes from being on minor downer after relegation, not so much any weakness in O'Shea and others like Davis who have been leading. If this lad gives us an extra boost in that department, as said above, it's a real plus.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

If we go up and if we want to keep him, I would hope we'd be in the box seat.

Didn't we say we were looking for players with more physicality after last time!

That's my only concern with the two we've signed, but then again ni big fees involved. Would really like to be developing a couple of talented monsters, but maybe we can do that too?

Our captain should be leading from the front, but is very often at the back and doesn’t get involved. He could do with being more vocal and getting in the faces of the referees like other captains seem to constantly do. Our captain rather sits on the sidelines.
