Seems as though most of the ones discussed weren’t seen to improve the squad.
Hirst, Azon and Akpon appear to be better options than most Championship or L1 strikers. There may be an argument for Armstrong but I am not overly convinced about him - so who should we have realistically gone for ? |  | | |  |

I’d have liked to have thought Ivanovic at Millwall was achievable. Not been as prolific this season, but fits our style and what we expect of a centre forward and one I think would be able to move up the league with us. |
Millwall would have been mad to even consider an offer when, for the first time in decades they have a sniff at promo to the Prem.
The management at Town have essentially backed themselves and the players to do what they want to achieve this season. I'm sure they'd love to get back to the prem, but I have a suspicion that unlike a lot of us they may not consider it a disaster if we don;t quite make it this season. I wonder if they are wanting to build capacity into the squad and think that next season we will be even stronger.? I could be wrong, but I can't help but notice that several teams that come down don't go back up the following season - eg: Villa, Bournemouth & Leeds. Many, many more who like us haven't been there for a lot of years get relegated and take years to be any where near again. |  |

Maybe you don't do caustic wit or sarcasm. Just my way of saying too many seem rather more obsessed with the " system " rather than anyone who actually scores goals from the no9 position.
Here's a fact that you can confirm with a little bit of research. Between them GH & IA have missed 27 "big chances" so far this season. I just wonder where we'd be if just half of those had been taken? | | | |

Between Hirst, Azon and Akpom we have plenty of "bodies" there, absolutely no point in us adding a "depth" signing there.
Think once we'd filled out 5th loan spot with Neil, there's basically very little to be done. |  |
