Delap played most of his games at Hull on the right side of their attack. Indeed scored against us in the away game coming in from the right.

I'm surprised that we never tried that once when Hirst was fit.

I think that is the position we signed him to play initially? And he wound up as the 9 due to injury? I might have just imagined it?

You are correct Rosenior was the Hull manager playing him wide right Now chelsea manager.
| Hull v Watford on 20:54 - Feb 3 with 1544 views | DavoIPB | Was just thinking how much quicker, more direct, more physical, more imaginative on the ball Watford are than us. Hull don't look particularly good but dangerous and quick on counter attack. | | | |

And herein lays the problem. There aren't many teams in the Championship who are very good. Most are bang average and when they play each other they are pretty open. But when they play us they play a very defensive game in an attempt to frustrate us. Remember Leeds two years ago. They beat us at home and blew us away at Elland Road. But struggled against the low block teams. If we had Nunez from pre season onwards, a player who has the key to unlock tight defences, we'd be top of the league by now. Patently missed him in the last two games.

We’ve lacked a ball carrier all season imho, someone one who can break the lines through the low block. Whether that be via central midfield or out wide. Problem we have (had before Burns came back ) is we were / are at times so easy to read. The opposition know for the most our wide players will cut back in as opposed to crossing from the by-line. I understand the benefits from cutting inside onto your stronger foot to unleash one as per Jaden and Jack but we miss beating someone with pace Anyway , all that said , I’m now watching Arsenal for my sins Hope you’re well Glassers

Leeds of 2024 or last year would win this league by 15 points. In fact of the teams that finished in the top 3 the last couple of years would.

Without question one of the very worst Championships I can remember, and being almost 71, a few have gone past! Whoever goes up will have to undergo a player revolution, in our case if it happened, yet again!

The bits I watched of the Hull -Watford game, Hull were just sitting back and trying to play on the break whereas Watford played some nice football but had no threat. Definitely, there's a way teams set up against us that makes it more difficult and I think even the poorer sides - Wednesday apart I suppose - have enough good players to be able to cause problems on the break. It's much more of a grind this season. I still think it's two from three for the top two and Coventry maybe having to rely on their first half of the season points to stay up there. Still, very much up to us.
