| Looks to me like McKenna might be a bit prickled by the criticism 11:31 - Feb 6 with 3723 views | Vic | Feels to me like he's been unusually frank in this presser - first his comments about Szmodics and now defending the interest in Azeez. I also wondered if there was a little bit more to his comments about recruitment and how it's changed since he's been here. Maybe I'm looking for stuff that isn't there, but it doesn't feel like the usual McKenna to me. | |

Probably because thats no historically how hes gone about those questions.

| Looks to me like McKenna might be a bit prickled by the criticism on 15:12 - Feb 6 by OldFart71 | I think it's very difficult to go to a home game and be upbeat given that this season we haven't pushed on. Last season was finished pretty early on and it was clear that we hadn't a team to compete at the highest level. Very understandable given that we had risen two Leagues in two seasons. Personally I don't see us ready now or even if we get promoted as there are too many positions where we are not strong enough. I see where we were coming from with the Millwall winger as you have Burns who we cannot assume will stay 100% fit or even make another season with Town. Despite what KM says McAteer isn't good enough and Egeli is not a winger. The number 9 and 10 positions are by no means sorted and Neil whilst a welcome addition to the midfield is like the situation with Bamford in that he was in a Premier League club, but deemed not good enough, You then maybe don't have adequate cover for both fullbacks and don't have a top class keeper at the club. So whilst our owners may require another stint in the Premier League do we want another season of knowing that we will be turned over by a majority of the teams in that League ? |
The problems you identify are rarely solved by extended periods in the Championship though. As a realistic fan you either hope the team never goes up again or you hope recruitment is much improved if we do.

Maybe the owners are starting to ask questions, who knows?

Maybe the owners will ask the chairman to oversee the things the ceo has been doing the past 18 months and ask what the actual plan has been.
