From what I understand, Sargent asked to leave (and maybe asked that the club accept the Toronto FC bid) as his wife wants to move back to North America. Knapper then decided to attack JS's family, after which Sargent made himself unavailable and has been banished to the U21s.
All rivalries aside, it feels a particularly sh*tty thing to do from Knapper's perspective. Whatever happens, footballers (and their families) are only human after all, and families should be off limits as far as criticism is concerned. | |

The really beautiful thing here is that they've effectively torpedoed his transfer value, costing the club potentially millions.
