| FA cup rule change 11:24 - Feb 15 with 1046 views | Pinewoodblue | To preserve the integrity of the competition is there a need to rule that a certain number of outfield players, four for example, should have started a clubs previous competitive game. | |

Look at the TV coverage for today's games. Not one on regular TV...all on TNT. Can't afford another streaming service and quite frankly football is not worth the expense. I do subscribe to Sky Sports but even that is becoming unaffordable to me as a pensioner. PL is a sterile money making circus.

I looked at the fixtures this morning and looked forward to an afternoon of footy in front of the fire. Now I have to paint the bathroom. They're definitely killing the FA Cup.

The integrity of the FA Cup has gone, as teams no longer wish to remain in the cup so they can focus on the league where the money is. I don't feel like paying money to go to cup games any more.

| FA cup rule change on 08:48 - Feb 16 with 334 views | woodbridge_blue | How about a change which would give the club from the lower division home advantage? Both the game at Birmingham and the one at Grimsby were much more competitive because the lower ranked team were at home. I'm sure there is a cup somewhere in Europe where this happens. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Play more games midweek in the first half of the season, and keep the mid-weeks around FA cup games empty, so that a cup run doesn't feel like too much of a burden. For the championship, keep the 3rd and 4th round at least free, and the 5th round if possible.

That was an excellent moment, brilliant from him.

I do think maybe Town have been particularly afflicted by this malaise, with so many consecutive years of not really 'bothering' with the cup(s). Smaller clubs will always try, in the hope of a big pay day, bigger clubs will try, because fans like a day out at Wembley, and e.g. Norwich at the moment will try because they ain't getting relegated and the cup run just reinforces the new buoyancy around the club. Every year, Town seem to have a reason that makes it acceptable or even desirable to many (most?) fans to exit lamely, and this year the game-in-hand fixture pile-up is an extra factor. i do think Town fans (at least on here) have become used to seeing every cup game as an injury waiting to happen, even in the league cup in September, rather than as a chance to get a fixture at Anfield or the Emirates ( - a 'big day out' with increased away ticket allocation compared to the league). I' don't think supporters of all clubs have lived with this mindset - year in, year out - for so long. [Post edited 16 Feb 10:22]
