Fair play to Wrexham 17:19 - Feb 21 with 533 viewsBlacknGoldnBlue

Got their tactics spot on. Worked hard, closed spaces down, ran and ran and ran and got some quality in the final third.

Poll: Following Saints game, when will Ipswich have their next permanent signing?

We played right into their hands though. Left the game wide open, didnt change anything in midfield when it was obvious in the first half well we're over run and then completely collapsed in the final half an hour.

Really? Thought they were pretty average if not poor. We just made them look good.

They get the basics right. I always appreciate a team that runs through walls and is positive. Ultimately it’s a simple game, even if there a thousands of coaches trying to complicate that simplicity. Sometimes that works and the whole is greater than the sum of the parts, but if not then the basics of energy, desire and directness always seem to do well. No team is happy being turned around and running back towards their own goal and they did that with ease to us. Similarly, a corner into a big man is hardly rocket science, but can work against a defence not prepared to make sure he can’t reach it.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Fair play to Wrexham for wanting to win both games unlike us.

You gift any team clown show goals, they’ll always look good. But without doubt they outworked us. Which is inexcusable considering they played midweek

Exactly! If you see your team giving 100% and chasing lost causes and still lose then you hold your hands up and say the better team won.
They worked hard and got rewarded.
If we'd put an equal amount of effort, then the fans wouldn't feel so disappointed!

Jack Taylor can do some good things going forward but he’s so far from the answer. So poor in possession.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Taylor would be ok in a midfield 3, but struggles in a 2 at times. He was ok first half to be fiar.

I’d like to see the stats but it definitely felt like they out ran and out tackled us at times.

The only Muff in Town.
