I understand that they were trying to frustrate and slow the pace and trying to hope for a goal on the break. But as a fan it's just wonderful to force them to speed up and then to have our keeper yellowed for doing the same in return. Just great. The time they took during the first half injury when they blatantly ignored the ref telling them to take the player off the pitch. Then the very slow substitution in the second half at nil nil. I have no problem with a team doing that when they are already ahead but hate to see it from the start of the match.

McKenna had something to say to their manager when he complained at time wasting. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Tbf to the ref, he added absolutely zilch to the extra 5 and he could of done so maybe a bit of payback for earlier antics.

I’d like to see a rule change. A captain of a team gets one warning if their team is clearly time-wasting. If it continues then the captain of the time-wasting team is booked along with the player wasting time (assuming it’s not the captain). If it carries on after that they captain gets a second yellow and are sent off. It would do away with it very quickly.
