| I watched on Town TV last night 11:58 - Mar 11 with 878 views | _CliveBaker_ | I don't use the service often, how do people find the coverage? Appreciate its club managed media but its nauseating at times. I think they must've said 'we've got the best squad in the division, just look at our bench' about 50 times. The commentator and Westlake were clearly watching it on TV as well, they missed the 2nd goal as they were showing a replay of another incident. Is that normal for away games, to not actually be at the game? | | | | |
| I watched on Town TV last night on 12:01 - Mar 11 with 847 views | JakeITFC | Yes, haven’t been at away games for a few seasons. I also watched it on there last night as I’m on holiday, I think it’s good to have a commentary team who know what they are talking about in terms of how the team is and have watched all of our games but I think it suffers from not being in the ground (for example with the wind last night). Westlake is an astute judge of the game. | | | |

Agree about the over-positivity - you get an in-house thing has more licence to be a bit more biased towards us but I do find some of the stuff they come out with annoying after a while. Think Westlake's a good co-comm, reads the games well and I like his Mathie-like excitement when we score, but I really can't stick the main commentator at all. Far too forced and cringey in his delivery for me like he's read a book of commentator cliches beforehand and is just spitting everything he's remembered from it out.

| I watched on Town TV last night on 14:38 - Mar 11 with 357 views | AljoBlue | apart from the fact it exists which is great, the best thing about it for me is Westlake's commentary. Some of the things he sees and analyses is really astute - in that regard he is way better than most national commentators. the bad is they really turn down the crowd sound, making it almost like it is football in a library. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| I watched on Town TV last night on 15:16 - Mar 11 with 287 views | BluJu | I cannot agree more. The commentary is becoming increasingly annoying and the camera work is amateurish. Missing their second goal last night was typical. They'd already repeated the goal several times and then did it again 10 minutes later. Commentary team didn't pick up on questioning whether it was offside (Town player in the net) for ages. Coverage often focuses in close-up on a player after a break in play, just as play restarts, or lengthy closeups of someone in the crowd - sometimes the same person repeated throughout the match. OK as a filler, but not when the game is going on. We couldn't make out what substitutions were being made for the oppo last night as they kept jumping from close-up to close-up of different people. They are so bland and insipid in their commentary, barely any passion and devoid of opinion unless it toes the line. It's like the news on children's TV vs Jonathan Pie. When watching with commentary from the oppo on occasion, they are usually far better and clearly way more into their own team doing well, and dare I say it, a little biased without being over the top. I'm sure the main commentator is a great bloke and lovely etc. but it really is the worst thing about watching - or trying to watch - TownTV games. At the end of the day though, it's better than not being able to watch. Don't get me started on the guy that interviews town players... | | | |

The camera coverage isn't their work - it's syndicated. It was the same feed as used by Paramount+. Not sure who provides the syndicated video feed - I've always assumed it was sky, but did they not experience the missed 2nd goal last night? I guess it could still be Sky, but they have a different production team for the Sky feed and the syndicated feed. I prefer to watch on TownTV, as I like the enthusiasm from our ex-players. However, I have a Paramount+ subscription, so watch it on there if it's covered, since it's no additional cost to me.

Sky viewers got to miss the goal too, so that bit isn't down to Town TV.

lol I originally thought it was just a replay of the first goal. As I was posting that it felt like we needed half time to come. Then realised they were showing a lot of celebration which seemed odd. We did in fact need half time to come a bit sooner.

It's the third time this season that we've contrived to go in 2-0 down away from home when in all three cases we we still well in the match only a goal down. Careless and poor game management last night.
