I seem to remember that Brizzle fans were quite clear on Ashton.
When things are going well, he's front and centre. However, when things start getting difficult - he disappears.
Well, here is situation of his own making, it appears. A choice he made. He didn't read the room and consider the consequences of his actions or he thought any positives (I have no idea what positives there could be from this?) outweighed any risk.
Either way, where is he now?
The damage is done - we are forever tainted.
I'd argue any credit he had in the bank is gone and he's well and truly into his overdraft.
For the sake of our Club he needs to grow a pair and own this mess, no waffle, no bull, fecking own it and resign.

It did seem at first ,the implications of this might blow over to some extent during the international break. After the further revelations last night, it seems quite the opposite is the case. It is going to be a total tsunami by next weekend unless Ashton steps down and the club try to make their peace with supporters |  | | |

That should’ve happened Tuesday afternoon when the ‘statement’ came out.
Instead everyone saw through it, and not only did they see through it, the journos investigated it and in turn it turns out much worse than what has probably been portrayed.

I suspect this is being worked on "in house" maybe and perhaps it's going via the "legal team"
Firing / Paying off someone at this level I would guess has plenty of ramifications and cost
I can't imagine any other reason for the radio silence other than "f.ck we don't know what to do next" |  |

TBF Bristol City fans said he would sell all our players and ruin the club. Setting Faragegate aside, he's done the opposite of that. I notice they were very quiet when we had back to back promotions. Now they're back.
I can see him surviving. Depends on the owners. If they back him, then I think enough of the fanbase are willing to give him a break. |  |

I think people would be surprised how many Town fans are willing to let him off this. TWTD and Twitter/X can be a bit of an echo chamber.
But someone at the club - hard to tell from the evidence so far - has handled this appallingly. The way it reflects on the club is awful and it will take time for the anger to fade.
As you say though, other leaders in football have survived worse. | |

You’d imagine if this is being investigated for gross misconduct then Ashton would be suspended whilst ongoing and likely unable to make any comment. |  |
