What exactly do you mean? I reacted to the news available at the time. I've made a few crap jokes but support the view that the club should never be used for political purposes. So which posts have been disappointing?

You've constantly downplayed this, taking the piss out of those who have been hurt and angry by what's happened. Which, of course, is your right - but it's pretty disappointing who you're aligning yourself with. Statement by J2BLUE 24 Mar 17:06Nothing more needs to be said.
People need to get some perspective and go touch grass rather than engaging in this race to see who can express their outrage in the most dramatic terms.
No one with any sense wants Farage in power. I certainly won't vote for him but this has been blown out of all proportion.
Downvote me all you want. Get to minus three figures, there's a challenge for you. This is all so depressing by J2BLUE 24 Mar 20:10By the time we play Birmingham it will have blown over. Their fans might start one chant but then it will be forgotten. Sure you'll think these are fine but hey

You're right, I don't think there is anything wrong there. AI looked like an option on the basis of the video. The next day I saw a post on Twitter from someone who broke the video down and thought the same. We were both wrong but these posts need to be put into the context of what was known at the time. The post towards TWTD was disrespectful and went against everything we know about Phil/Gav/the site. The statement reply was again in the context of what was known. I did think, and still do, that some are revelling in this. Not talking about everyone who is upset about it. Very few are happy to see Farage holding up a Town shirt as propaganda but there are a few who have lost all perspective. That last post was clearly a joke. i won't apologise for it. I have a 20+ year history on here of posting crap jokes.

Problem? Not sure what you’re referring to sunshine, my problems are the ageing process, expensive children, that sort of thing. I’ll reply to who and what I want thanks. Cliffs not bombs set out pretty well how you’ve misjudged this all week, and I thought your response was boIIocks. Hope that’s helpful. If I don’t respond again, it’s just because I don’t want to. No offence.

Very helpful, thanks. I never said you should reply to every post, it's just nice occasionally to hear what you disagree with. Agree on the ageing process. Every time I think of my age my brain refuses to believe it until I work it out manually. And those bloody online forms scrolling further and further back each year. Depressing.

Fair, I get how at the beginning the likes of you, dolly etc were bending backwards to believe the dubious narrative from the club. I'd have loved to believe it too. Since then though, yeah you've always shown your distain for Reform as any decent person would, but man I can't agree that the rest is all fine. When people across the political spectrum are demonstrably hurt and angry, playing it down may get you a couple of uppies from the tweedles etc but it's disappointing as a decent, long standing forum member. IMO.

That may be a fair point on wanting to believe the club. I can acknowledge that. The up votes thing isn't fair. I'm not sure if you have seen the reactions to my posts but if I was concerned about up votes I wouldn't be posting the things I have posted. I have probably had more down votes in the last week than in the last decade before that. I couldn't care less about getting up votes I am not playing it down. I get it. I just think a small number of people have lost their minds. Some people have started about 20 threads and really gone off on bizarre tangents. I do understand the anger. I have posted that Ashton should really go. The fallout has been poorly managed. It was incredibly thick to invite Farage in the first place. I really cannot understand anyone thinking it was a good idea.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to believe the club, we should all be able to. But surely those who did swallow the narrative that the club pushed should be be the MOST furious that they were duped and lied to? You should be leading the anger at the club having been gaslit by the institution you should be able to trust. Sorry I'm not saying you're fishing for upvotes generally - I have seen the reaction to your posts and to be honest I agree with the largely negative reaction to them. I would venture to say that sometimes (not just now) that a genuinely decent poster like yourself sometimes appears to court upvotes from a few tweedly, 'elite" posters which doesn't befit them. Ultimately, I don't think we're miles apart in our positions. Nobody can be proud of what's come out of ITFC this week and it needs to be resolved asap, properly

There is a much simpler solution than that. He needs to go, and the club need to release a statement that supporting political parties is not what we are about... just as we have never supported a political party in the 150 years prior. There is no 'policy change' required. He is the policy change, and then he lied about it. [Post edited 28 Mar 6:27]

I agree that would be a lot simpler, however the damage is done. Why should it be easier to fix. I want him to work for his cock up.

As a matter of interest, I believe that the Cobbolds had a long association with the Conservative Party, former Chairman John standing as MP for Ipswich. The last time was in 1959, while Alf Ramsey was manager. It was a very different world of course and I doubt standing as an MP at the time would have been viewed as the club supporting a political party, more the decision of an individual. In any case, from the book on him I got no sense he was particularly interested in politics and certainly knew he didn’t have much of a talent for it.

Completely reject this. I don't know where this has come from. There are definitely two groups of posters on here who see the world differently but that doesn't mean my posts are for their approval. I post my honest views (crap jokes aside) and if anyone wants to challenge my views they can.
