I would be more inclined to if he actually owned his shit and recognised his mistakes.

Instead he talks about the royal ‘we’, implies mistruths and positions it as a ‘sorry you feel that way’ rather than a simple ‘I made a mistake, I misread this one badly, if I could go back and change it I would, and I haven’t reacted to the situation well’. ‘I’m sorry for my part in that, I take full accountability and I’ll do better moving forward’. Something along those lines should’ve come out midweek, then left it at that.

I would’ve rather he said nothing than that feeble excuse for an apology.
